My fist two weeks with the laptop have been a real joy. Normally I spend days setting up a new system but I was able to transfer everything including installed programs from my Imac over to my MacBook Pro. I REALLY like how apple does this and I wish that every system let you move installed applications so easily. I bet it saved me 45+ hours of work, this is why I am now Steve Jobs fanboy.

When at my house I connect my laptop to my apple display and use a bluetooth key board and mouse. I love the setup but recently some called to attention one ‘problem’ with it. I wanted to have the laptop the same height as the screen so when I looked around my den I grabbed the fist thing I had that was the desired height.

I

I have not used my copy of Office XP Developer in some time due to the fact I purchased Office 2008 for the mac. I love it when I am able to reuse something however it is a bit of an eye sore compared to the rest of the setup. Does anyone know of a good laptop stand that is frugal? I just spend all my play money on a new laptop to I have to be price conscious. If you do know of one drop me a e-mail or leave a comment on the blog please.

I just about laughed so hard I was crying this morning when I saw a hilarious look at how rumors get started for new Apple Products. If you do not have a sense of humor and/or are a huge Mac zealot you may not want to read it. Some great quotes for those to lazy to read the whole thing:

“Will it work with my ten-year-old Quadra 840AV running Mac OS 8.1?”

“underemployed web designers and independent musicians struggle to clear credit card space.”

““Will it play multiplexed Ogg Vorbis streams?” become matters of life and death.”

“Business Week publishes an article stating that unless Apple immediately releases a Windows version of the new product its market share will continue to shrink and Apple will be out of business within six months.”

So I have to say a part of me had died this weekend. Fortunately another part of me has awoken. I have now joined the ranks of a Mac owner. It is amazing honestly that it has not happened sooner. With all the computer toys I have owned over time I am surprised I held out this long. So lets talk about the new toy, went to the Apple store Friday and picked up the new 20 inch Imac and a 30-gigabyte Ipod. Out of the box my experience has been very good, it is true about the Mac, things just work. Plugged in my printer I could print. Plugged my Camera and I was storing pictures into Iphoto and uploading them to Flickr. Some things are not where I expect them to be and I have been a bit frustrated over the weekend but on the whole I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. More then anything I like how quitet the system and I thought I would never say this about a Mac but I like the new mouse, the 4 way little scroll wheel is supper slick. I do not think I will be a true diehard Mac zealot but I see now where they are coming from.
